Representatives of the Indian company Mahindra met with the Serbian Ministry of Agriculture on Friday, May 11, 2018, to talk about the company’s investments in Serbia. As Blic has learned the multinational company is interested in buying locally grown apples and raspberries, but also milk and meat and other forms of cooperation.

Indian businessmen find the idea of exporting to the Western and Eastern markets, as well as to the Russian Federation, from the territory of Serbia quite appealing too.

Mahindra is a renowned name in the arms industry and they also deal in electric car production. It is headquartered in Mumbai and makes one of about twenty of the largest Indian businesses. Mahindra also has over 100 branches worldwide and is engaged the field of aviation, agribusiness, automotive industry, production of construction and industrial machines, energy, finance, information technology and hotel industry.

During his official visit to India last year, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic met with the Mahindra officials to discuss possible cooperation and now those agreements are being facilitated.

It is also likely that the Indian company will acquire one the Serbian food companies – unofficial sources have confirmed for Blic.
