German company, KMS, from Hannover, is interested in purchasing of Jagodina’s brewery, whose majority owner if the state with 65%.

-KMS Management, one of the leading companies for water refinement, with Frank Egans as the Chairman, estimated on the recent visit of the brewery that the negotiations could be successful, stated Zoran Dimitrijevic, Jagodina’s brewery Manager.

If they show that they are seriously interested, KMS representatives have to contact the state’s Agency for privatization, said Dimitrijevic, adding that publication of the tender for the sale of the Brewery was expected in the beginning of January of the next year.

Representatives of KMS talked to the Mayer of Jagodina, Dragan Markovic Palma, in the end of November, in Vienna. During this visit of the business delegation of Jagodina to the Austrian capital, they agreed to have a visit to the brewery in Jagodina, Dimitrijevic reminded.

Jagodina’s brewery is the oldest company in this part of Serbia, it started beer production in December of 1852, and it also produces non-alcoholic beverages, water and ingredients for making the beer.

It holds a 4th place in Serbia by beer production flow. It has 280 workers.

Let us remind you that workers and several small share holders of Jagodina’s brewery formed in the beginning of November a consortium for the purchase of state’s capital of this company.
