Inventory of Serbian diaspora to start in January 2006, about €19,000 set aside

The Board for inventory of members of Serbian diaspora would start with work on September 1, 2005, whereas the inventory in about 120 countries of the world should start in January 2006, said the deputy of the Minister of Diaspora, Aleksandar Čotrić.

During the inventory, the data on sex and age structure of citizens of Serbian diaspora will be collected, as well as data on their membership in various organizations and information on whether they want to return to Serbia and, if the answer is yes, under what conditions.

According to some estimates, there are between 2 and 4 million Serbs in 120 counteis of world on all five continents. About €19,000 will be set aside from the budget of Republic of Serbia for financing of the first two phase of inventory.
