The Infrastructure of the Serbian Railways announced on Monday, April 23, 2018, that the removal of tracks on the rail station in Indjija, on the Stara Pazova – Novi Sad section, has begun, as part of the construction of a railway for speeds up to 200 km/h between Belgrade and Budapest.

Due to these works, they say, trains will not travel the direct Stara Pazova – Indjija rail route in the next eight and a half months, using instead the Stara Pazova – Golubinci – Indjija railway. The works are being carried out by the Russian company RZD International, and the entire project entails the construction and the delivery of materials and equipment on the Stara Pazova – Novi Sad section, in the length of 40.4 kilometers.

The job is worth USD 247.9 million, and the financing comes from the Russian loan for the modernization of Serbian railways.

The plan is for the construction of the railway between Stara Pazova and Novi Sad to take 48 months.
