"Diskobolos 2008" awards granted

The Unique IT Council of Serbia granted awards last night (December 18, 2008) to company "Geneko" from Belgrade for the system for wireless connection of fiscal cash registers with the Tax Administration's server and to company "Energosoft" from Novi Sad for the electricity trade management system.
The awards were also granted to "Delta sport" for the retail software system, as well as to the Ministry of Health of Serbia and European Agency for Reconstruction for development of health care information system for basic medical and pharmaceutical services.
National Employment Agency also obtained "Diskobolos" award for its information system, while "PTT Srbija" got it for the information system in that company.
Some of the foreign companies that received this award are Zagreb-based "Infomare", which got the award for the business system for automobile industry, and certain project from Shri Lanka for the independent education software.
The laureates are also companies "Lanaco" from Banja Luka, "Siemens", "Čikom" from Podgorica and "Konsing" group.
The best expert meeting is "Telfor", while the best foreign partner is "Nortel". The best publisher in that sector is "Mikro knjiga", while the best radio and TV show is "LIVE-e-TV" on Internet TV.
On the occasion of the 14th "Diskobolos" awards night, the Minister of Telecommunications and IT Society, Jasna Matić, estimated that the IT sector was the most dynamic and that it was very significant for development of the country.
