Famous director, Emir Kusturica, will participate in adaptation of a warehouse near Cacak center, old almost 100 years, into a modern cultural center with a music hall, three movie theatres, bookstore, library and a gallery.
Multilevel "Ljujica warehouse", built in 1914, will maintain the authentic image of the facade, but with added annexes will spread on 3.500 square meters.
Last summer, Kusturica went to visit Cacak twice, when he made the offer to give this town one of the 7 Serbian multimedia cultural centers. As he is the initiator of the construction and possible investor, once he saw the old, abandoned warehouse, used for a long time by a trade company, Kusturica immediately recognized this space as what he was looking for.
President of City's Parliament, Veljko Negovanovic, stated that the request was already submitted to the Agency for property of Serbia, to give in the complete land with the object, owned by the state for use to the local management. Once the licence will be got, a series of law procedures will be begun, in order to prepare everything for the investor to have this location for use.
