Austrian companies have invested 2 billion euros in Serbia

Austria is the largest foreign investor in Serbia, with 2 billion euros invested since 2000 in the Serbian market, it was stated by the trade representative of Austrian Embassy in Belgrade, Andreas Haidenthaler.

- Presently, there are 280 Austrian companies doing business in Serbia, which opened 20.000 new working places, Mr.Haidenthaler said at the Austrian section meeting in the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia.

Haidenthaler said that the trade exchange of Austrian and Serbia was in constant increase and that in the first 9 months of this year, it reached 700 million euros.

According to Chamber's data, in the first 10 months of this year, Serbia exported to Austria goods in the value of 405 million USD, which is 60% more than in the same period of 2007, while import has increased by 6% to 497 million USD.
