Volkswagen considering asset sales – Possible sale of Ducati

The new Chief Executive of Volkswagen, Herbert Diess, said that he would consider asset sales and accelerate decision making in the period in which the German car manufacturer is facing seismic technology changes in the industry, while moving on from the diesel emission scandal.

Speaking at his first news conference as chief executive at VW’s headquarters, Diess said he would examine different assets in VW’s portfolio, which includes the motorcycle company Ducati and conveyor manufacturer Renk, and review whether keeping them makes sense.

– We will review all options – Diess said and added that this could include investing in the businesses or pursuing a sale.
