Austrian stores chain "DM" will open 60 more locations in Serbia in the next two years with investment of 11 million euros

In the beginning of the next year, Belgrade will get new "DM" cosmetics shop and a restaurant on the location of todays "Trandafilovic" restaurant. Stefano Baldezi, General Director of this chain, says that both customers and restaurant lovers will be satisfied. Quarter million euros has been invested in this location of 1.200 square meters in lease, and by the end of the year, works on restaurant renovation will be started. Therefore, this unusual merge of modern and tradition will settle down the spirits in Vracar. After four years of "DM"s presence at Serbian market, there are 23 cosmetics shops and 170 employees. In the coming two years, there will be another 60 locations opened in which "DM" will invest 11 million euros. According to Baldezi, this market still has enough space for "DM", as well as for its competition. He also stated that the intention of the Austrian chain was openning of 200 locations in Serbia. As soon as in the coming year, "DM" will open a logistic center on 5.000 square meters, which would serve as supply location for all objects in Serbia. We are still not in the position to open up objects in the cities with less than 40.000 citizens, because of weaker purchasing power of the consumers, but I belive this will be changed. We are market leaders in Croatia, where we have been present for already 13 years, and we entered Serbian market in the right moment, when domestic cosmetics chain was opened "Lilly", said Baldezi. The average value of "DM" shopping bag in Serbia is around 8 euros, which is by third less than in developed European countries.
