Construction of Presevo-Tabanovce border crossing to begin in 2019?

Serbian Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic talked today with Macedonian Deputy Prime Minister Koco Andjusev about the construction of the joint border crossing Presevo-Tabanovce and agreed for the preparations for the construction of this border crossing, which will enable all border and customs procedures to be carried out at a single railway station – Tabanovce – reducing the train staying time, to be stepped up.

– We have agreed to accelerate this project, which is also supported by the EU, and to start building the common border crossing as soon as possible, maybe as soon as 2019, since the entire project-technical documentation is already being completed – Mihajlovic said, as reported on the website of the Government of Serbia.

Andjusev said that the establishment of a common border crossing at the Tabanovce station was in both countries' interest and that there was talk at the meeting about a potential joint financing and the possibility of having the works start as soon as 2019, it is said.
