"Masterplast" opens a new plant worth 6 million euros for production of styrofoam

In Subotica based company, "Masterplast", another new plant will be opened today (December, 12th, 2008) for production of styrofoam. This international company, which manufactures the most modern construction materials for heat isolation, already has developed businesses in 17 countries, and in the last year it had a turnover of 100 million euros.

The new plant in Subotica based section of the "Masterplast", spreads on 6.500 square meters, and it has been built for the last 7 months, representing now one of the most modern ones in the Europe. The production capacities are made for production of 500.000 cube meters of styrofoam per year, which is almost on the level of the entire need for this material in Serbia, where about 650.000 cube meters of styrofoam has been sold in the last year. However, "Masterplast" announced that 70% of this production will be made for export purposes.

About 6 million euros has been invested in the new plant, and once the factory starts to work with its full capactity, another 100 workers will be hired. According to the plan, the new plant will reach 60% of production planned by the project, by the next year, and the full capacity will be made by 2011.
