"Elektroprivreda Srbije" seeking strategic partner for construction of two thermal power plants

The Government of Serbia decided yesterday (December, 11th, 2008) to announce international tender in the name of "Elektroprivreda Srbije" for strategic partner in the project of construction of two thermal power plants - "Kolubara B", with two power blocks, each per 350 mega Vats, and onw new block of 700 mega Vats within Thermal power plant "Nikola Tesla B". Total investment value is between 1,6 and 1,9 billion euros.

However, the construction of power energetic capacities will not be started until the second half of 2010. This means that Serbia will not have a new power plant before 2012, as it was planned by EPS development plans and by the Strategy for development of energy sector of the Republic. In the best case scenario, our country will have the new production capacity in the beginning of 2014.
