Erste&Steiermärkische Bank to acquire 100% share in Opportunity Bank Montenegro

Erste&Steiermärkische Bank (ESB - a member of Erste GRoup in Croatia) and Opportunity International (OI), a non-profit microfinance organization with the headquarters in the USA, have taken the first step towards potential future cooperation today (December 3, 2008).

As a part of that cooperation, ESB is going to acquire the 100% share in Opportunity Bank Montenegro (OBM), the OI's branch office for microfinance in that country. The Agreement also anticipates support in a form of the financial source for OBM, which will additionally strengthen the position of the bank in the market and enable quality platform for future growth of crediting and business development.
