Chinese interested in Ponikve Airport – Potential investments in hotel at Tara

Ambassador of China to Serbia Li Manchang and General Manager of China Shandong International Economic & Technical Cooperation Group (Belgrade office), Liu Zhichang, made an unofficial visit to Uzice on March 25, 2018, as reported on the local self-government's website.

Deputy Mayor of Uzice Nemanja Nesic presented to the Chinese delegation projects on which the Chinese company and the Town of Uzice might cooperate.

Of these, the guests found the project of reviving the Ponikve Airport and having it repurposed as a commercial airport to be the most interesting, but they also expressed interest in cooperation in the project of construction of exclusive hotel accommodation at Tara. There was also talk about potential cooperation in the field of agriculture with the Chinese ambassador, more precisely, about potential involvement of agriculturists from Uzice in the growing of medicinal herbs.

Considering that this is only the first visit, more concrete results are expected in the upcoming period, it is said on the website of the Town of Uzice.
