- The representatives of French company “Sagem“ will visit Niš in the second week of December to give their opinion about the offer for investment in Niš-based Electronic Industry (EI) - the Mayor of Niš, Miloš Simonović, announced today (December 2, 2008).

He said to agency Beta that “Sagem“ should definitely make decision about the two offers of Niš, EI and the Republic of Serbia until that time. He also specified that the offer concerned procurement of certain part of EI television and greenfield investments on the grounds of EI holding.

As he explained, in the second half of the month, Serbian party will know the definite position of “Sagem“ when it comes to investment in Niš.

Simonović said that Serbia was not able to guarantee the electric meters market to "Sagem", but it could "guarantee the fair play".

Pointing out that that was "Sagem‘s" request, Simonović estimated that that French company was "certain that it will take certain part of the electric meters market in the fair play".

The Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia, Božidar Đelić, said on October 2nd that French company "Sagem" wanted to make the base for production of electric meters in Niš and to hire 250 people in the first phase of the investment.
