Italy’s Ghezzi interested in investing in Vojvodina – Province’s investment potentials presented in Trent

The provincial secretary for the regional development, interregional cooperation and local self-government, Ognjen Bjelic, visited the Italian region of Trent on Friday, March 23, 2018, where he attended an investment conference at which the investment potentials of Vojvodina and Serbia were presented.

Over 30 Italian companies took part in the conference, and the Secretariat for the Regional Development, Interregional Cooperation and Local Self-Government, in cooperation with the Development Agency of Vojvodina, presented the investment potentials of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina through a presentation and a short film, informing Italian businessmen about the investments made by Italian companies in Vojvodina so far and the data on the trade between Serbia and Italy, the website of the Provincial Government reports.

– At the moment, 65 Italian companies have invested their capital in the territory of the Province of Vojvodina, with the total value of the capital invested standing at around EUR 800 million – Bjelic said.

He reminded that, with their investment activities, Italian companies gave a considerable contribution to activating Vojvodina’s potential, especially considering that those companies employed and hired more than 11,000 persons from the labor market.

Representatives of over 30 companies interested in investing in the territory of Vojvodina come from the sectors of wood processing and metal processing industry, agriculture, finance and the packaging industry.

The conference was supported by the international family company Ghezzi, which operates in the field of metal industry and is interested in investing in the territory of Vojvodina.

During the two-day visit, Secretary Bjelic, Nikola Zezelj, director of the Development Agency of Vojvodina, and Olivera Kovacevic, director of the sector of promotion, visited the facilities of Ghezzi in the municipality of Cles, met with the management and were introduced to the methods of operations of this international company.
