Tender announced for sale of "Prosveta" – deadline for purchase of documentation is January 19

Privatization Agency of Serbia announced the tender today (November 27, 2008) for sale of 69.47% of total capital of Publishing company Prosveta from Belgrade.
According to the website of the Agency www.priv.rs, the buyer will be obliged to stay in publishing business for, at least, another 10 years and to keep bookstore Geca Kon in Belgrade’s downtown.
All companies that are in that business for minimum three years and that registered business incomes of minumum 2m EUR and published, at least, 30 monographs in 2007 can bid on the tender.
The condition for participation in the tender is purchased tender documentation, which costs 10,000 EUR and can be bought between December 5, 2008, and January 19, 2009.
The deadline for submission of bids on the tender is February 12.
Prosveta published
91,221 books in 2007, which is 60% more than one year before, and the sales incomes
reached 1.35m EUR, which is 66% more than in 2006.
The company’s profit amounted to 4,000 EUR. "Prosveta" had 93
workers at the end of July 2008.
In addition to bookstore "Geca Kon" in Knez Mihailova Street in
Belgrade, "Prosveta" also owns retail facilities in Makenzijeva
Street in Belgrade and in hotel Sunčani Vrhovi on Kopaonik mountain.
The company’s headquarters and warehouses are situated in the center of
Belgrade.
