“Telekom Srbija” has announced that it will introduce IP TV service (TV over internet protocol) in its offer on December 1st.

The CEO of the Directorate for Commercial Operations of "Telekom Srbije", Vladimir Lučić, said that IP TV had 59 channels and that everybody who subscribed to that service would be able to use it for free prior to January 31st.

After the promotional period, the price of that service package will be 500 RSD.

The latest technologies that are offered to the viewers by means of IP TV, that is, Internet Television, include video on request, which makes it possible for the viewer to choose what to watch and when, and it also enables recording of favorite contents that have been available over the last 72 hours.

Establishment of IP TV requires the equipment that is installed by "Telekom" for free. Every user must have ADSL line, which does not need to be used since the user can choose to pay only for IP TV.

- "Telekom Srbija" launched this service on November 1st and it now has 1,050 IP TV subscribers, 2,500 people are waiting to be connected to the network, and the general estimate is that IP TV will be used by about 20,000 people by the end of year 2009 – said Lučić.
