Concept shop "Supermarket" was opened last night (November 25, 2008) at the corner of Višnjićeva Street and Strahinjića Bana Street in Dorćol. It is a specific combination of boutique, store and trade center.
Concept shops were introduced as a response to the market’s satiety with numerous trademarks, so that they are usually the places where you can find unusual, rare products that can not be found in any other luxury department stores or boutiques. After nearly 20 years, the citizens of Belgrade will be able to buy "startas" shoes in this shop at the price of about 80 EUR.
The space at 1,400 square meters includes, among the rest, a restaurant, a spa center, a chocolate bar that offers 12 kinds of hot chocolate with various flavors (from chili to mint), etc. There are also some exotic dishes on the menu of the restaurant.
The idea of the concept shop was created 11 years ago in Paris. Such shops were later opened in other European cities, such as Milan and London.
