Three Chinese companies invited for due diligence at Gorenje

(Gorenje Valjevo) The Slovenian producer of household appliances Gorenje invited three potential strategic partners from Asia for due diligence. All of them had submitted bids for the acquisition of a majority stake in Gorenje, seebiz.eu reports, citing Slovenian media.

Gorenje announced last week that it had received four offers by potentials strategic partners, all of which are active in the sector of household appliances and come from Asia. On Tuesday, March 13, 2018, they received the fifth offer, made by a potential strategic partner from Europe, also active in the house appliances industry.

Following a detailed analysis and review of “business and other elements”, three of the five potential partners were invited for due diligence. They come from Asia and are active in the industry, and they submitted offers for the takeover of at least 50% plus one share of the company.

According to unofficial information available to the Finance newspaper, non-binding bids were made by the currently biggest global producer of the said devices, Haier, and of of the biggest Chinese producers, Hefei Meiling. The Chinese giant Midea, which produces a wide range of electric devices, the most famous of which are air conditioning devices, is also cited as an interested party, RTV Slovenia reports.

The three potential partners will be provided with access to a virtual room containing data about Gorenje Group from March 23, and a tour of select places and group meetings with the company's management will also be enabled for them.
