Informal negotiations with World Bank about loan of 100m USD for procurement of new locomotives for "Serbian Railways"

The Assistant to the Minister of Infrastructure of Serbia, Dejan Lasica, said that the informal negotiations with the World Bank about the loan of 100m USD for procurement of new locomotives for "Serbian Railways" were underway.

Lasica said at the press conference in "Serbian Railways" that the negotiations were still in unoffical phase and that the loan for new locomotives would range between 80 and 100m USD.

He said that the negotiations about procurement of new electric and diesel trains for "Serbian Railways" were also underway, but he did not specify the value of that loan.

- The Government of Serbia plans serious investments in the railway infrastructure and we expect the transit through Serbia to be significantly increased after four years of break - said Lasica.
