Sale of property of Army of SCG - tender for sale of Military Technical Institute Beograd failed

The tender for sale of complex of Military Technical Institute (VTI) in Katanićeva Street, judging by one and the only bid, will fail for the second time. Although the starting price on the tender for sale of VTI was €23.5m, the only potential buyer offered only €5m. The Ministry of Defense explains that the bids were opened on Monday and that the tender commission works on their evaluation. According to the words of Vladan Živulović, director of the Fund for Reform of Defense of SCG, the lack of interest in VTI was not unexpected because the starting price, set by the Tax Administration, was much too big.

Concerning the fact that the starting price is strictly cited in the tender for sale of facility in Katanićeva Street, the tender commission of the Ministry of Defense will have to reject the only submitted offer. The circles interested in sale of military property already assume that, due to two unsuccessful tenders, VTI will be sold by free agreement. Certain analysts think that the price of the complex in Katanićeva Street was ”inflated” on purpose, because two unsuccessful tenders enable sale by free agreement.
