Shorter flight routes to save fuel and reduce travel time – SMATSA presents Free Route Airspace project in Madrid

SECSI FRA was successfully implemented on February 1, 2018, and pertains to the airspace of the states on the stretch from Austria to Montenegro and Serbia.
The project enables users of air space to pick the shortest routes from Central to Southeastern Europe, allowing for savings to be made regarding the travel time, fuel consumption and emission of carbon-dioxide.
The SMATSA delegation took part in the world congress of air transport management organizations in Madrid from March 6 through 8.
