IMF delegation arrives to Belgrade – Talks to start on March 12

The Mission of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has arrived to Belgrade, and official talks with the Serbian delegation will start on Monday, March 12.

The IMF Mission and the Government of Serbia should discuss the new arrangement, which would be based on technical support.

The three-year precautionary standby arrangement the IMF approved for Serbia on February 23, 2015, entailed financial support of around EUR 1.2 billion on a per-need basis, and was successfully completed on February 22, 2018, without the need for the drawdown of the said funds.

– By carrying out the agreed economic program, macroeconomic balance has been achieved, primarily through establishing sustainable public finances, improving the resilience of the financial sector and strengthening the competitiveness and the economic growth – the National Bank of Serbia announced following the completion of the arrangement.
