Another Iranian airline is to launch flights between Tehran and Belgrade, Aviatica reports and adds that Mahan Air confirmed its plans for launching the service at ITB Berlin.

The plan is for Mahan Air to carry out several ad hoc charter flights in March and to establish a regular series of charter flights on April 6, which is to last through October 26.

Mahan Air will operate the Tehran-Belgrade route twice a week, Mondays and Fridays, aiming to enable the increasing number of Iranian tourists to visit Serbia, for which they are no longer required to obtain visas since recently.

– Iranians travel a lot and love to do so. There's great demand for visits to Serbia – says Abbas Moshiri, Regional Manager of Mahan Air for Europe.

He stated that the flights will be operated by a wide-body aircraft Airbus A310 with a capacity of around 200 passengers. The flights will not be available for free sale, but it is expected that, in addition to Iranian tourists visiting Serbia, they will be also used by Serbian tourists visiting Iran.

In addition to Mahan Air, the Iranian national airline Iran Air will also operate the route between Belgrade and Tehran, having announced the launch of a regular service in January.
