Užice-based company "Prvi partizan", which has entered the circle of the world's largest manufacturers of shooting, hunting and sports ammunition, put 1m EUR worth of equipment for lacquering bullet cartridges into operation yesterday (November 20, 2008).
The unit that was opened by the Ambassador of Belgium to Serbia, Denis De Huver, includes a 500,000 EUR worth of machine for production of bullets "for people's protection", which will be used by the police and the army in critical areas.
That is the only equipment of the kind in the world's military industry and it is the result of the joint project of "Prvi partizan" and Belgian company "FN Herstal", which have signed the contract on ten-year business cooperation.
According to the words of CEO Dobrosav Andrić, the new equipment will help "Prvi partizan" organize technology for the new product for the needs of the Belgian factory, which is the world's largest manufacturer of arms and equipment.
