Free software for organic agriculturists in Serbia arrives

For the first time, agriculturists active in organic farming in Serbia have been provided with the possibility of free usage of unique software which will help them modernize their business and reduce the administrative burdens suffered by producers in organic agriculture.

The software called Agrolife, developed by Greensoft, enables users to enter data in a digital database and provides regular digital data updates, which reduces the time and the energy needed to run records and prepare reports for control organizations and the Ministry of Agriculture, says the press release of the German organization for international cooperation GIZ, which has enabled the free usage of the software in Serbia.

Furthermore, this app facilitates the following of administrative activities and field activities for agriculturists and also reduces the possibility of error.

The training of producers and control organizations for the usage of this software begins this month, and the plan is to have up to 70% organic producers in Serbia switch to this type of record keeping by the end of the year.

Agrolife, provided within the Private Sector Development project in Serbia, which is being carried out in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, can now be used for free by all organic producers, authorized control organizations (certification institutions), as well as the Directorate for National Reference Laboratories of the Ministry of Agriculture of Serbia.
