Knorr-Bremse arriving to Novi Sad – German producer of braking systems to employ first hundred workers in June

The German company Knorr-Bremse, which produces brakes for commercial and rail vehicles, will employ the first 100 workers in Novi Sad this June, Marijana Dukic Mijatovic, adviser to the mayor of Novi Sad for implementation of strategic projects, announced on Thursday, March 1, 2018, RTV reports.

As she announced, they will work at the hall the company has rented from the City, and which is located in the Rimski Sancevi neighborhood. As the media reported earlier, the hall in question has an area of 6,500 square meters.

As the Office for Local Economic Development of Novi Sad told eKapija, the company will become operational by the end of 2018, and 90% of the production is expected to be exported. They add that suppliers from Serbia will be involved in the production, some of which have already qualified and are delivering components for Kiepe Electric.

Knorr-Bremse, headquartered in Munich, is one of the biggest producers of brakes for commercial and rail vehicles. In addition to braking systems, the company also features facilities for the production of microelectronics, air-conditioning, train engine control systems, transformers, entry doors for passenger rail cars and devices for signalization and railway crossings.

The company was founded in 1905 in Berlin, and its seat was moved to Munich after World War II. This German producer of braking systems now has factories in 30 countries.
