Mercator bought network of stores Era-Croatia, joint construction of hypermarket in Skopje

On August 19, the managements of stock company Mercator and stock company Era signed the sales contract, according to which Mercator bought Era’s network of stores in Croatia through its daughter company Mercator-H, Ltd. In that way, Mercator obtained additional 53,000 square meters of gross retail surfaces and 800 million HRK worth of income from the sales. Thus, Mercator will realize income of over 2 billion HRK in Croatia until the end of 2005 and become the biggest trade company on the Croatian market. The companies also signed the contract on construction of trade center on the fairgrounds in Skopje. The construction of new Mercator’s trade center on surface of 19,000 square meters should commence at the end of the year 2006. godine. Joint value of the business moves in Croatia and Macedonia is €50m.
