The construction of the undersea section of the Turkish Stream pipeline has nearly reached the half-point.

– A total of 884 kilometers for two pipeline routes has been laid down, which is around 48% of the undersea section of the pipeline – says the operator's press release, as reported by the Russian agency Tass.

The Turkish Stream project entails the construction of a pipeline across the Black Sea to the European part of Turkey and further to the Greek border.

The length of the undersea section of the pipeline is 910 kilometers, whereas the land section is 180 km long.

The first route of the pipeline is supposed to supply gas to the Turkish market, and the second one should deliver gas to south and southeast Europe.

Each branch will have a capacity of 15.75 billion cubic meters a year.
