5,000 tons of raspberries for Hungarians – Processing plants to open in Arilje and Pozega

Thanks to the cooperation with Hungary, two raspberry processing plants will open in Serbia, first in Arilje and then in Pozega as well, Minister of Agriculture Branislav Nedimovic announced on Monday, February 12, 2018.

During his visit to Sevojno, Nedimovic pointed out that the Memorandum of Understanding was signed with Hungary, which will provide finances, technological equipment and a ten-year agreement on the export of processed raspberries from the factory to be built in Arilje.

According to the minister, the Serbian company obliges to secure 5,000 tons of second-class raspberries, meant for industrial processing, through subcontractors.

– If we know that over 70,000 tons are produced in Serbia a year, this way, we’re solving the problem of the demand for this type of raspberry, which has not been able to find a purchaser in the market. Aside from Arilje and Pozega, another raspberry processing plant is sure to open in the territory of Serbia – Nedimovic said.
