Gorenje to sell boiler plant in Stara Pazova

The Slovenian company Gorenje has confirmed that it will initiate the process of the sale of the Gorenje Tiki plant in Stara Pazova this year.
As they said, the sale of this part of their operations is a part of the restructuring in line with the new strategic orientation towards focusing on the core activity.
When asked about the allegations in local and regional media that the Chinese company Haier will be the purchaser of a part of Gorenje's operations, the Slovenian company says that they've already refuted such allegations.
Gorenje did not respond to the question of what changes in the core activity or the number of employees might occur when the plant in Serbia is sold.
The company reminds that, in line with the new strategic plan, the Group has been organized into two lines of activity since the beginning of 2018 – Home Appliances (core activity) and Other Activities (heating systems, kitchen furniture, bathrooms and ceramic products, ecology, commerce and industrial services) – and that they are constantly looking for new possibilities of a gradual sale of activities and companies from the latter category, as well as possibilities of the sale of unnecessary property.
Parallel to this process, Gorenje Group is also looking for a strategic partner in the field of production of home appliances, which would enter the ownership structure of the Slovenian company.
The deadline for interested partners to submit non-binding offers is early March.
Gorenje is present in three production locations in Serbia. The production center for refrigerators and freezers has been organized in Valjevo, whereas boilers are produced at the factory complex in Stara Pazova. The factory in Zajecar produces clothes washing and drying machines.
