(Aleksandar Vucic) Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic stated on Friday, February 2, 2018, in Vienna, that around 450 companies from Austria operated in Serbia, where they employed around 13,000 people.

At the joint press conference with Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz, Vucic said that he expected the number to considerably increase in the next period.

– We believe that we are creating an environment which will prove more and more attractive to Austrian investors – the president of Serbia added.

Vucic said that he had informed Kurz about the talk he had had a day before with Austrian investors, who had told him that they had never had such a good year in Serbia as 2017 and that they expected 2018 to be even better.

– It seems to me that we have a good cooperation in all spheres which could be even better and I would like to ask Kurz to continue providing unconditional support to Serbia on its European path now that he's Chancellor the same way he used to do when he was Minister of Foreign Affairs of Austria. At the same time, Austria can always count on Serbia's support at international forums and in international institutions, as has been the case so far – Vucic stated.

Vucic expressed gratitude for what he called the excellent cooperation of the two states and added that he hoped that the cooperation would become even more successful.
