Regional rail cargo line Ljubljana-Belgrade to be launched soon – Establishment of special train route Sava Express possible as well

Representatives of Slovenacke Zeleznice Cargo, Hrvatske Zeleznice Cargo, Srbija Kargo and AGIT discussed the possibility of having national operators revive cargo transport on Corridor 10 on railways of Slovenia, Croatia and Serbia.

The aim is to have individual shipments, which are now transported by road, that is, by truck, transported by rail again, Srbija Kargo announced on its website.

– This will be a big challenge, but the good mutual cooperation between these three transporters, SZ Cargo, HZ Cargo and Srbija Kargo, the securing of quality and reliable services, as well as competitive prices of transport make these plans very optimistic – Srbija Kargo says.

As added, the plan is for the pilot project to start on March 1, 2018, and to adapt and upgrade the project later on, in line with the potential interest and demands of the clients.

There's even the option of introducing a special train route, Sava Express, which would operate the Ljubljana Zalog-Beograd Ranzirna route.
