Telenor's profit in Serbia in third quarter of year 2008 - 26m EUR

Company "Telenor" announced yesterday (October 29, 2008) that it had achieved business profit of about 26m EUR (223m NOK) in Serbia in the period July-September 2008, which is twice as much as it earned in the same period in 2007.

According to the data from the website, the business profit of that mobile telephony operator after the first nine months of year 2008 reached 61m EUR and it is 45% higher than in the same period last year.

"Telenor" also announced that the total incomes in Serbia in the period July-September 2008 amounted to 8.45 billion RSD, which is 7% more than in the third quarter of year 2007.

- Number of subscribers grew by 78,000 to total of 3,125,000, while the market share remained stable at 39% - said Gabor Kočiš, the Executive Finance Director of "Telenor" in Serbia.
