Another section of Berlin Wall found?

The historian Christian Bormann announced that he had discovered a large segment of the Berlin Wall in the forest area of the capital of Germany.

Bormann said that he had stumbled upon the 80-m long segment in the borough of Pankow nearly 20 years ago, but that he was only reporting it now due to recent vandalism.

The Berlin Wall, raised by East Germany, separated the eastern part of the city, under communist rule, from the western one from 1961 till 1989. Its demolition started in 1990 and only several original sections remain today as memorials.

The Berlin Wall Memorial spokeswoman Gesine Beutin says if Bormann has found a stretch of the original brick wall, it needs to be preserved.
