THE ULTIMATE SERBIAN TOUR

1.day

Departure from Belgrade at 7a.m. to Vinča,important archeological site of the beginning of known Europe civilization. Drive to Smederevo on the bank of the Danube and visit to the old fortress and continuing travel to Gornjak Monastery via Petrovac. Road to the Manasija Monastery goes through small villages and finally ends with amazing thick walls with 11 towers which surround former education and cultural center founded in 15th century.Drive through Senj mines area along Resavica River between slopes of mountains Kučaj and Beljanica to Ravanica Monastery.Trip through Despotovac to Strmosten and accommodation and overnight in Motel LISINE, settled in intact nature with fish ponds nearby rich with river trout.

2. day

Drive starts at 8 a.m. over Crni Vrh mountain peak to Borsko Jezero lake with short brake and continue to Negotin via Brestovačka Banja Spa. Visit to Museum House of famous music composer Stevan Mokranjac. Visit to trenches in Rajac Taverns and testing of domestic wines and brandy. Special entertainment by local magicians. Roman city Romuliana near Zaječar and view on precious mosaics in Emperor s Palace. Over fantastic Rtanj Mountain route leads to Soko Banja Spa. Accommodation, dinner, overnight.

3. day

After breakfast departure to bazaar of medical herbs on Rtanj and testing of various kinds of herbal teas, especially famous rtanj tea .Drive to Knjazevac and visit to archeological site Timacuminus and Museum of Archeology. Exciting drive through Svrljig Mountains with barbecue meal served in ambient of fresh air and spring waters. Donja Kamenica Monastery and magnificent mountain peak Babin Zub on 1769 m above sea level. Accommodation in hotel,dinner,overnight.

4. day

Breakfast and all day long stroll through the virgin nature rich in herbs, woods, springs, peaks with excellent view. Various kinds of birds and animals. Trip to Temska Monastery and Golemi Vrh Peak, mountain peak with the monastery devoted to Mother of God. Picnic lunch /roasted lamb/ near spring.Return to Hotel BABIN ZUB, dinner, overnight.

5. day

After breakfast departure to Poganovo Monastery and drive to Zvonačka Banja Spa with excellent mineral waters ready for testing.Drive along slopes of Besna Kobila via Crna Trava to Vlasina Lake. Accommodation in hotel NARCIS. Visit to local house-hold with flocks of sheep and lamb.Testing of milk products and other delicatessen. Dinner, overnight.

6. day

Short walk along the shore of Vlasina Lake and departure to Belgrade on highway via Surdulica and through Grdelička Gorge. Lunch in Predejane in motel Dzep wellknown for its special dishes of South Serbia origin. The break at Bovan Lake near Aleksinac and visit to Josanica Monastery. Accommodation in monastery guest rooms,viewing monastery yard before dinner cooked by nuns in traditional way. Overnight.

7. day

After breakfast conversation with Prior nun and exhibition of icons and handcrafts made by nuns. Drive to Preradovac and visit of the church built on the base of an older from 15th century. Visit to Museum in the Open in Prevest Village and birth house of famous naïve painter Janko Brašić in Oparić. Lunch. Drive to Kalenić Monastery settled in the charming valley among colorfull hills far away from roads, and probably, the most beautiful and best preserved example of Moravian architecture form the beginning of 15th century. Departure to Jagodina and visit to Museum of Naïve Arts. Drive to Belgrade and Novi Sad and end of the programme.
