Construction of Novi Sad Science-Technology Park to take until late 2018 – Government providing EUR 7 million for interior equipping

The construction part of the Science-Technology Park in Novi Sad should be completed in late 2018, to be followed by the equipping and the moving in.

The vice dean for investments and cooperation with the business sector of the Faculty of Technical Sciences, Srdjan Kolakovic, says that the company Science-Technology Park will also be formed by then, but that it is still not known who the founder will be and to what extent – the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina or the Republic of Serbia.

– Our information says that the Government of Serbia has decided to provide around EUR 7 million for the interior of the building to be developed as well, so I believe that everything is completed as far as the financial part is concerned – Kolakovic said and added that the Government of Vojvodina had set aside more than a million euros in the previous year.

The Park building will have around 30,000 square meters, of which the Faculty is to use 10,000, and a part of the premises is also meant for startups, providing students and assistant professors with an opportunity to develop and later sell some of their ideas.

The dean of the Faculty of Technical Sciences, Rade Doroslovacki, believes that, aside from providing additional space, the construction of the ST Park will provide this institution with an opportunity to employ more assistant professors and regular professors, enabling it to educate more engineers.
