This “revolution” is a part of the technological achievement of Adidas, which has created a modern sports suit in cooperation with NASA – Alpha Skin.
The project, which has been ongoing in laboratories throughout the world for years, has been perfected with the use of Aramis, the technology NASA used on spacecraft exteriors. This is a 3D mapping technology, which traces objects with cameras and sensors, gathering data at 500 frames per second.
Adidas engineers used it to “scan” athletes, measuring their movements and analyzing each detail, leading to the creation of the product they are now proud of.
The biggest advancement compared to similar products consists in a modern kinetic design which eliminates seams, friction and anything that can hamper movement. Practically, the suit becomes one with the actual skin. The fact that a special type of fabric, enhanced with titanium and 3D aluminum spheres, which keep the body cool and maintain the temperature at an optimal level, is used makes Alpha Skin even more innovative.
