The new Belgrade City Museum will have 13,000 square meters of surface. The reconstruction and development of the building at 40 Nemanjina Street will start in late 2018, and the construction works will be completed in 2020 – the head city urban planner, Milutin Folic, announced for Novosti.

– The entire job, from the construction, the moving, to the equipping of the depot, the galleries, the conference halls, the reading rooms, the archives and the restoration laboratories, will cost EUR 15 million.

According to Folic, the conditions for the realization of this project have finally met, since the property issues with the Serbian Armed Forces, the previous owner of this facility, have been finally solved, after 12 years.

This cultural institution, Novosti reminds, will have 3 entrances. A total of 20 design teams took part in the architectural contest in 2016, and the winning team is headed by the architect and professor Goran Vojvodic. He designed the future look of the facility together with Jelena Ivanovic Vojvodic and Jovana Gruevska.
