Deposit insurance for entrepreneurs?

Slobodan Ilić, the Ministry of Finance's State Secretary, has announced that the Government of Serbia is thinking about insuring the deposits of small and mid-sized enterprises in banks. According to his words, the final decision about that will be made before tomorrow's (October 23, 2008) meeting of the Government

Ilić said that all the changes in the laws, which should introduce those measures, should be finished that day and included in the agenda of the Government of Serbia the next day.

Among these laws are the Law on Deposit Insurance Agency and the Law on bankruptcy of banks and insurance companies.

- Immediately after, by urgent procedure, they should be forwarded to the Parliament that will take them into consideration after they adopt the budget rebalance - he pointed out.
