Srbija Voz is adapting the Topcider station in Belgrade for international rail traffic, as the Prokop station lacks motorail access.

As Novosti reports, passengers traveling to Bar will be boarding at the Topcider station instead at the Main Railway Station from July 1, as motorail trains cannot be loaded at the new Belgrade Center station.

The daily writes that Srbija Voz has hired workers to adapt the Topcider station, which has been out of function for decades now. This station needs to be used because the motorail cars which are a part of each train traveling towards the Adriatic Sea cannot be loaded at Prokop.

– Although Prokop was designed over 40 years ago, it hasn't occurred to anyone to check if it is properly functional. It has turned out now that cars cannot be loaded here, as no adequate access can be provided here – Novosti reports.

The acting director of Srbija Voz, Jugoslav Jovic, said that Topcider was not the best solution for this problem at the moment.

He added that Topcider would be the terminal for daytime and nighttime international trans to Bar and that the loading and the unloading of the accompanying cars would be carried out at the station.
