Eurovision 2018 to be hosted by women exclusively

The organizers of Eurovision announced on January 9 that this year's contest, to take place in Portgual, will be hosted by four women, following the criticism over having men host the last year's contest exclusively.

There have been many complaints on social networks about the fact the Eurovision 2017 in Kiev, Ukraine, was hosted by three men, as the contest is supposed to celebrate diversity.

The Lisbon Eurovision contest, to be held this May, will be hosted by four Portuguese-speaking women. One of them, Daniela Ruah, is an American TV star, whereas the other three are familiar Portuguese TV personalities – Filomena Cautela, Silvia Alberto and Catarina Furtado.

Eurovision organizers were not available for comment.
