Inspectors of the Tax Administration have carried out the control of 275 petrol stations throughout Serbia in 2017 and detected irregularities in the operations of 116 stations, 42.2% of the total number, whereas as many as 100 petrol stations have been temporarily closed, the Tax Administration announced.

The amount of nearly 50,000 liters of various types of motor fuels was confiscated and additional VAT was calculated for all unaccounted for shortages or overstocking of goods.

Minor offense charges were filed against the responsible persons, the Tax Administration announces and adds that the hundredth gas station was closed on December 25 due to irregularities in operations.

The most frequent irregularities detected by the field control inspectors of the Tax Administration are failure to register a part of the sales, not issuing fiscal receipts, not registering hired workers, inadequate annual inventories, irregular book keeping and irregularities related to fuel lists and unaccounted for shortages or overstocking of goods.

The control was carried out by the field control inspectors of the Tax Administration in coordination with the market and metrology inspection.
