European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has announced today (October 14, 2008) that it will take into consideration the possibility to lend 20m EUR to Internet operator SBB for takeover of companies in Serbia and in the region.
According to the web site of EBRD, that loan would make it possible for SBB to show sustainability of regional approach in development of companies, as well as to strengthen its position in the market and serve as an example to other companies.
SBB announced at the end of September that it would start to introduce satellite television Total TV in Bosnia and Herzegovina and in Croatia. Total TV has already been introduced in Montenegro, Slovenia and Serbia.
President of the Administrative Board of SBB, Dragica Pilipović-Čefi, points out that SBB plans to use the moment when all big investors are focused on the crisis in global financial market to take over some of the companies in the region.
According to the web site of Business Registry Agency, the owner of SBB is company "Adria cable", registered in Netherlands.
