The Government of Slovenia approved the formal proposition for a change of obligation regarding the privatization of NBL, which points to the fact that the procedures of the sale of NLB are postponed and that a management representative, who will not be able to take part in the new sales process, is appointed in the transitional period.

– The official proposition to the Commission proposes for the procedure of the sale of NLB to be postponed and to start in 2018 and be completed in 2019. In the transitional period, Slovenia proposes the appointment of a so-called management representative, who would manage state investments in the period, but not be in charge of the sales process, which is to be run by the Slovenian Sovereign Holding – Minister of Finance Mateja Vranicar Erman said following the session of the Government.

The sale of 75% minus one share of NLB, to which it obliged in late 2013 in exchange for state aid, is thereby to be postponed by the Slovenian government until the period following next year's parliamentary elections.
