Public debt of Serbia at 64.9% of GDP at the end of October 2017

At the end of September, the public debt amounted to around EUR 24.1 billion, that is, 64.6% of the GDP.
In December 2016, it was around EUR 24.82 billion, 71.9% of the GDP. At the end of 2015, the public debt also amounted to around EUR 24.82 billion, making up 74.7% of that year's GDP.
At the end of 2014, Serbia's public debt amounted to EUR 22.76 billion, that is, 70.4% of the GDP, whereas at the end of 2013, it was EUR 20.14 billion, 59.6% of the GDP.
At the end of 2000, the public debt of Serbia equaled EUR 14.17 billion or 201.2% of the GDP. It was at its lowest in 2008, when it amounted to EUR 8.78 billion or 28.3% of the GDP.
The Law on the Budget System limits the percentage of the public debt in the GDP to 45%.
