This pertains to facilities for which mandatory security is defined, which eKapija has already written about.
As Slobodan Maksimovic, president of the Group for Technical Protection of the Association for Private Security of the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia, told RTS on Monday, December 4, 2017, there are also plenty “state institutions which have not envisioned this, as their budgets were prepared prior to the Law’s coming into effect”.
– They are now waiting for a new budget, which will include these funds. The deadline cannot be met for sure – Slobodan Maksimovic told RTS.
The document primarily has a preventive role. It lists risks and liabilities, but also measures the implementation of which will reduce the consequences of damaging or disastrous events. The Ministry of Internal Affairs will be in charge of monitoring whether the Law is being implemented.
– The penalty for legal persons lacking this risk assessment document or failing to update it once in three years is 50,000 to 500,000 dinars. The ministry aims to have the Law on Private Security implemented in full and for us to act to prevent such occurrences, and not to have the law for repressive purposes – Natasa Ignjatovic of the Ministry of Internal Affairs explains, as reported by RTS.
Banks and other financial institutions will have the same obligation. They have been given a deadline to adapt to new regulations by the end of 2018. It is said that the preparations of these studies should not be seen as a new expense, as a good, professional assessment often results in a reduction of security costs.
