Bookmate, a service for reading e-books, which connects passionate readers across the globe, has officially started operating in Serbia.

As announced, beginning with November 27, readers in Serbia are provided with access to Bookmate’s growing catalog of over 850,000 electronic books in 12 languages, including 1,500 titles in Serbian and 300,000 in English.

Bookmate has already established cooperation with the biggest publishers in the local market, such as Laguna, Vulkan, Carobna Knjiga, Znanje, Paladin, Tardis, Otvorena Knjiga, Odiseja and others, and the digitization of numerous editions is in progress. Furthermore, certain electronic editions in Serbian will soon be included in the offer, available at Bookmate exclusively.

– Serbia is a very interesting market for us and the starting point for the development of our service in other countries of the Balkans – said Andrew Baev, CEO of Bookmate.

– With some truly fantastic titles in Serbia, as well as the great relations with publishers in Serbia, we are sure of our success.

As added, Bookmate also plans to enter the Croatian market, as well as the markets of other countries in the region in the upcoming months.
