A2 generator at HPP Zvornik in operation from January 2018 – Works worth EUR 63 million to continue

The mounting of the A2 generator at the Hydro Power Plant Zvornik is in its final stages, EPS Energija reports.

The tests, including the main testing of operations with water, should take place in late November.

Following these tests, the A2 generator will have a month-long trial run. According to the planned dynamics of the works, the completion of the trial run is expected for mid-January 2018.

The factory testing of the main electro-mechanical equipment in the factories of the supplier and the delivery of the equipment to the construction site for the A3 generator are also in progress. The works on the A3 generator will begin following a successful trial run of A2.

The funds realized in the revitalization projects at HPP Zvornik so far amount to 50% of the contracted value, which equals EUR 63 million.

The revitalized A1 generator has been in operation since December 23, 2016, and has produced 83,544 MWh of electricity in 3,689 working hours.

The main contractor, Voith Hydro, has hired a large number of companies from Serbia for the jobs of dismounting the existing equipment, mounting new equipment, construction works and delivery and installation of cooling water system and power plant management system. These are Elnos BL, Elektroremont, Gosa Montaza, the Mihajlo Pupin Institute, Dijamant Belgrade, Jadran Belgrade and others.
